Our Online MA in English course is a semester-oriented program completed in two years. Our semester modules cover the academic topics of classical, modern, and postcolonial literature. Our program aims to sharpen writing proficiency and boost students' analytical abilities through the work of eminent writers. Students will also explore research methodologies and techniques for preparing a dissertation in the required format.
In the first semester, the course modules cover topics in language theory and practice, sharpening interpretive skills through prose writing styles and themes. Students will learn about dramatic techniques and character development, gain insight into major international movements and narrative techniques, and strengthen their critical thinking.
In the second semester, students will explore topics of the scientific study of language, covering semantics. The semester modules cover Shakespeare's works, literary approaches to classical, modern, and postmodern theories, poetic expression, and prose writing, encouraging students to refine their interpretive skills.
In the third semester, students will study poets’ work from the Romantic age and twentieth-century poetry and drama, with a focus on modernism, symbolism, existentialism, and experimental forms. The semester modules also include topics in American literature and postcolonial literature.
In the final semester, students will deepen their knowledge of literature by studying twentieth-century novels and Indian fiction, which helps them evaluate literary themes. Students will learn about the Renaissance and 14th- to 17th-century literature. Building research techniques to create a research document is also covered in this semester.
