Regulator of medical education postpones decision on MBBS seat limit

In response to concerns from southern states, the National Medical Commission (NMC) decided to postpone its decision to restrict the number of MBBS seats to 100 per 10 lakh population by one year.

The medical education authority was directed to reexamine the regulations of the ratio of 100 MBBS seats per 10 lakh population in states by the Union Health Ministry on November 1. This led to the decision being made.
