Jharkhand starts a scheme to boost school attendance.

The Department of School Education and Literacy of Jharkhand has initiated a special initiative called “Prayas -Siti bajao, school bulao” (blow whistle, summon pupils to school) to get back students who have been missing lessons for more than a month.

A few days ago, by the government program, a government school in Tangrain, which is around 45 km away, in the Potka block of East Singhbhum district adopted “Siti bajao, Upsthithi badao” (blow the whistle, improve attendance). The answer was positive.

According to Tangrain Upgraded Middle School Headmaster-in-Charge Arvind Tiwary, the “blow whistle” campaign, which was recently implemented in the villages around the school, received positive feedback. Students who had been missing for over a month now began showing up for class as soon as they heard the whistle sound.

The education and literacy department decided to implement the program in all government schools in the state after receiving positive feedback. They also instructed the relevant authorities to post images of students blowing whistles on social media on January 11 as soon as they arrive at school, using the hashtag #seetibajao, he said.
