JEE Main 2024: Biometric attendance and frisking even during bathroom breaks
According to National Testing Agency (NTA) officials, candidates taking the engineering entrance exam JEE Main 2024 would also be required to submit biometric attendance and frisking following bathroom breaks.
The same procedure will be required for officials, observers, employees, and even volunteers who assist with distributing refreshments, they stated.
The goal of the action is to guarantee that there are no instances of unfair means or proxy attendance. NTA Director Subodh Kumar Singh stated, “We already have strict mechanisms in place, but the goal is to make the exam completely secure to ensure there are no incidents.”
Currently, candidates undergo screening upon arrival, and biometric attendance is tracked there as well.
In the long run, Singh continued, “The same procedure will be extended to other exams as well.”
The entrance exam for centrally financed technical colleges, such as NITs and IITs, is called the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main. The JEE (Advanced) is the admission exam for Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and the top 20% of the merit list are qualified to take it.
English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu are the thirteen languages in which the JEE (Main)-2024 will be held. The dates of the Computer Based Test (CBT) are set for January 24 to February 1. The results are scheduled to be released on February 12.
