Belfast’s Queen’s University will spend £100 million building student housing.
Recently, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak declared that “immigration is too high” in the country and claimed that drastic measures are being taken by the government to lower it. Certain universities are taking steps to welcome international students, even though the PM has chosen to forbid foreign students from bringing their families to the UK unless they are pursuing postgraduate research degrees.
A member of the elite Russell Group of UK universities known for their emphasis on research, Queen’s University, Belfast, has announced that, as part of a larger plan to help meet an unprecedented surge in demand for housing for international students in Belfast, the university will invest up to £100 million over the next four years.
