Phase I of placement at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has been completed, despite the difficulties caused by Cyclone Michaung in Tamil Nadu. The institute reports that on the first day, a record amount of offers were made.
More than half of the students who were placed come from backgrounds that are both socially and economically challenged.
