AICTE expands its reach, adds management, eliminates the limit on admission for top-performing engineering colleges, and offers computer application courses.
The approval procedure manual for the academic year 2024–2027 was released today by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The programs and courses in computer applications (like BCA) and management (like BBA/BMS) have been brought “under the umbrella of AICTE to ensure coordinated development in technical and management education,” according to AICTE Chairman TG Sitharam, who also announced the modifications in the approved guidelines.
While the council is already regulating postgraduate computer application and management courses, there is no regulation of these courses at the undergraduate level, according to AICTE member secretary Rajive Kumar.
