20% decrease in CLAT test takers as a result of exam date changes

The change in exam dates has resulted in a 20 percent decrease in test takers for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), raising concerns among the legal education industry. Students’ preparation will be impacted by the new CLAT timetable, which was originally set for December 2022 following the board exams for the 12th grade.

In the past, CLAT tests were held following the 12th board exams, allowing students to prepare for the exam for at least two months. Nevertheless, since the tests are now set for December, students are too busy with their pre-board exams and practicals to give enough time to study for the CLAT.
